This Miami Penthouse Just Broke the City’s Real Estate Record
The unit at the Foster + Partners-designed Faena House sold for $60 million.

The higher you climb up the wealth ladder, the better the view.

That’s certainly true at the penthouse at Faena House in Miami Beach, which set a city record for the highest price ever paid for a private home when it closed for $60 million on September 21. The duplex unit, which has 12,516 square feet of interior space and another 9,900 exterior square feet, surpasses the previous record of $47 million a Russian buyer paid for a 30,000-square-foot house in Indian Creek Village in 2012.
The apartment has eight bedrooms and a 70-foot-long rooftop pool, according to the Wall Street Journal, with views of both the Atlantic Ocean and the Miami skyline.

While the penthouse buyer’s identity has not been revealed, other new Faena House property owners include Lions Gate Entertainment Chairman Mark Rachesky, Goldman Sachs CEO Lloyd Blankfein, and Goldman Sachs Vice Chairman Michael Sherwood, according to the South Florida Business Journal.
