Bob Dylan Rolling Thunder Review Photo Book by Ken Regan published by Ormond Yard Press

I ordered this book coming out this fall from Ormond Yard Press based in England.  It is an oversized collectible 24 inches X 36 inches book of Dylans Rolling Thunder Review Tour limited edition of 750 copies. This tour more or less picked up and collected musicians as the tour ran along.  Ken Regan followed Dylan for months and captured some amazing photos and behind the scenes of this famous tour. Get yourself a copy and hang it on the wall in the acrylic case that can be purchased as an extra.  www.snapgalleries.com

Rolling Thunder

Buy it nowI am really pleased to be able to announce the upcoming publication, on 30 October 2015, of Rolling Thunder: Photographs by Ken Regan.

Rolling Thunder: Photographs by Ken Regan will contain the very best of Ken Regan’s 1975 Rolling Thunder Revue photographs of Bob Dylan – a tour on which he was official photographer. Incredibly, Ken’s Bob Dylan photographs have never been the subject of a dedicated book of their own, and many of the photographs in the book have not have been published before.

This will be the sixth limited edition ultra-large-format book by our publishing arm, Ormond Yard Press, and follows on from titles featuring Bruce Springsteen, Nick Drake, The Rolling Stones, Jimi Hendrix and Kate Bush.

The edition size for Rolling Thunder: Photographs by Ken Regan is reassuringly small – just 750 individually numbered copies are being offered to collectors worldwide.

You can read more about Rolling Thunder: Photographs by Ken Regan, in the drop down ‘accordion’ sections below.

We are making a special introductory offer on Rolling Thunder for anyone who wants to take advantage of a discounted price on this book in advance of publication- but this offer only runs for a limited time. You can order online by selecting the ‘Buy it Now’ button, or alternatively you can contact us at the gallery and we can process your order over the phone.

Why this book deserves a place in your life

This is a book on a spectacular scale: an ultra large format hardcover which measures 24 inches high x 18 inches wide (60x45cm) when closed. When the book is open, a double page spread measures 24 inches high by 36 inches wide (60cm x 90cm).

Rolling Thunder: Photographs by Ken Regan will include 96 large format pages, and will feature the very best of Ken Regan’s Rolling Thunder archives. Many of these images are being published for the first time. With publication on 30 October 2015, we are, at the time of writing, still in the preliminary design phase, reviewing contact sheets and selecting images for possible inclusion. At this early stage, we estimate that there will be somewhere in the region of 150-200 photographs in the book. We will firm up on that number over the coming weeks.

This is a book that defies the normal ‘coffee table’ convention. Much larger than a traditional coffee table volume, it is slim and elegant at the same time. Rolling Thunder is housed in a beautiful custom printed slipcase which reproduces the front and back book cover art. All our publications seek to redefine the book as more than just a book – and as a piece of art in its own right. With this in mind, the cover of the book and slipcase have been deliberately left free of text so that nothing detracts from the power of those images.

Why is this book important?

First, because Ken Regan’s Rolling Thunder archive is the most important Bob Dylan archive not to be the subject of a specific book of its own, and we want to put that right.

Second, because something revelatory happens when photographs are presented in this ultra-large format. Hidden details come to light, and the power and impact of the images are magnified exponentially. Unless you go to a gallery and see a large format print on the wall, you can’t experience this. Imagine an entire art gallery exhibition that you get to take home and keep forever. That’s where we come in. Our publishing arm, Ormond Yard Press, was established to bring to life a carefully curated series of spectacular large format limited edition photography books.
