El Grano Carmenere

I had the chance to try this wonderful wine from small producer in Chile recently at the Crows Nest in Montauk, NY and their talented new sommelier Chris.  This grape is another one that isnt the most popular but make no mistake this is a winner.   Its medium bodied, velvetly, nice fruit,  smoky and easy with a variety of foods. It comes from the Curico Valley in Chile about 115 miles south of Santiago. The 2014 vintage is just coming around look for it or ask me for sources. Priced about 15.00 to 20.00 per bottle retial you cant go wrong here.  Buy a case and lay down half and drink the rest now.
